Twenty one year old Bournemouth based DJ, Producer & Promoter Sam King, under his Samson guise has been involved in the club scene for a good few years now, promoting and spinning each week at legendary Bournemouth parties ON&ON & Get Loose which have had the likes of Zombie Disco Squad, Solo, and Trevor Loveys as guests.
He’s spun alongside tons of big names such as Timo Maas, Santos, Tania Vulcano, Jerome Sydenham, Justice, Riva Starr, Zombie Disco Squad, Solo, Brodinski, Shane Watcha and so many more, learning all the while. He is also one half of the dance music duo Wetrooms who have their first official remix coming out on iT_TizZ records in February 2010, and are sharing remix space with the likes of underground house and techno talents AKA AKA, Ben Anders, Mad Kids & Jeff Doubleu. Wetrooms have already bagged themselves a few more official remix spots so keep your eyes peeled for these over the coming months.
His clever sets which weave through many shades of house, tech and all things ‘dance music’ (he likes to pick less familiar tracks and go his own route) have won him slots opening for the likes of DC10 and Circo Loco star Tania Vulcano at the Circo Loco DC10 UK reunion in Southampton, whilst he also warmed up the Pacha main room for Jerome Sydenham at just 18 years old. He currently holds residencies at Big In Japan, ON&ON, Get Loose and Minimal Animal and is a regular DJ at such other nights as ‘We Are Your Friends’ and ‘Beat Redemption’
2009 was a great year for Samson as he was involved with some top party brands around the UK including a slot at the Mixmag Xmas party warming up for Justice @ Egg nightclub, Twisted Disco @ Pacha and Superfilth @ 93 Feet East, and his DJ skills also secured him a 30 minute guest mix feature on Diesel:U:Music Radio on Nat Self’s (from Zombie Disco Squad) show.
2010 looks like it will be just as successful with festival appearances in the pipeline, more gigs alongside people like Erol Alkan, Giles Smith and James Priestley & Danny Rampling around the UK and beyond and some more strong productions all on the way. It’s time to take note!
