The first album by Guilherme Simonsen’s downbeat project from Brazil is very well produced music which reflects the attitude towards life in South America without drifting off into rapid Latino rhythms. This is a pleasant symbiosis between jazz influenced lounge and slightly psychedelic trip hop/dub. Skilfully assorted samples and acoustic instruments are built up to finally mix with the soft voice of Barbara Starling. An ideal album to welcome a sunny spring.
