I really like the sets of Hawtin but when he is playing tracks like this I really can’t enjoy it!
Most of the people only like the track because there hero played it…
precisely! Someone posted his closing tracks (Yeke Yeke afroacid remix for instance) the other day and they are massive. I’m not saying don’t post killer tracks played by DJ X or Y!
What I question the logic of posting something just because he played it…don’t be a victim of idol-worshipping…you should post it mainly because YOU like it!

Hahahaha! I watched the video. He is playing the original! Goes to show how much these kids really DON’T know! He’s using the effects to geek it out. I been rocking that tune for like 12 years already. If I get around to recording it I’ll throw it up!

I see where you’re getting at. First of all, I am a huge Hawtin fan and I do like the track on its own, otherwise I certainly wouldn’t have post it. Secondly, and maybe this is where you and I differ, I enjoy Hawtin best when he plays such fresh tracks. I’ve seen him play on numerous occasions, one of which was Contakt in Ghent. All in all it was an impressive show but a bit at the expense of the music; a six hour pounding almost without any creative, refreshing ‘interlude’ if you like.. After a couple of hours it even became a little bit boring.. Clearly not a victim of idol worshipping, right ? Moreover, this is a matter of personal preference which we obviously cannot discuss..

Easy now Abdel, I ain’t criticizing no-one, nor making false assumptions whatsoever! Just asking questions to get the ball rolling. It’s not about right and wrong on a website that brings PROHIBITED CONTENT to your hard drive pretty effortlessly, thats wrong enough, but we still indulge in it!
I like Hawtin, I like the track, I’m just challenging in a non-conflictual way something that is broader than this post, this song, this DJ, so don’t take it personally!

both original and the remix are good , even if your not a fan of the remix you have to remember that it will introduce a lot of new people to the works of prince which is a good thing imo.
