With a total of 11 full-length albums in their long band history, it was about time for the ‘creative leaders’ (Zillo) of the German Gothic Scene, to release their first ‘Best Of’ Album! With their unique and always ‘darker than darkest’ sound full of irony, Untoten succeed to create ‘aural landscapes’, worlds of images and feelings, mourning and longing among their countless followers. Greta Csatlos’ voice – at times fragile and tender, then again full of passion and intensity – and David A. Line’s melody-lines create songs of rare intensity and beauty for over a decade. This ‘Best of’, coming with 12 pages booklet including all lyrics and a special ‘photo gallery’, contains the early indie-hits, such as the provoking ‘Sperm Finger’ or the wonderful ‘Absence of Light’, as well as more recent ‘classics’ such as ‘Herz der Finsternis’, Willst Du?’, ‘Blutrot, die Liebe’ or ‘Cynthia’ – tracks that have become ‘ever-greens’ in the German and international gothic club-scene!

Untoten，来自德国的四人歌特金属乐队，其音乐风格“比黑暗更黑暗”。以前没有接触过，今日试听了这张唯一的精选辑《Best Of》的最后两首“Morbid Lover”和“Angel”，没感觉到任何黑暗，不同于印象里这类音乐中常有的女主音高亢、嘹亮、尖锐或者歌剧似的或者带有宗教感的或者凄惨的或者悦耳的heavenly voice，两位女主唱的嗓音非常特别，有点像感冒了，但不是充满磁性的沙哑。总之很好听。
